PLATAMONAS INFRASTRUCTURE

Pieria region has a full communications infrastructure with national and regional road network and inter-provincial buses and trains.

Katerini city is only 80 kilometers from the international airport "Makedonia" and 70 kilometers from Thessaloniki, which is connected by thr national highway E75. The road crosses the Pieria area from north to south, allowing quick access to any settlement near the sea. The highway goes through Larissa and stops at the entrance to Athens.

Until they reach Katerini city, along with E75, tourists can use the old national road Thessaloniki - Katerini. From the capital of Pieria, the road bifurcates to Elassona, covering the mountains from west towards the east.
The network of roads covers all local communities. In parallel with the coast another road stretches from the coast of Nea Agathoupoli to Olympic Beach.

Another route is from Gritsa city, Litohoro and reaches Platamonas as its final destination. Throughout the region of Pieria, in parallel with the national highway, lies a complex network of railroads, with many intermediate stops. Trains arrive on time, they are very clean, comfortable and fast. The bus services are also very well developed. Buses are new, very comfortable, fast, clean and are equipped with air conditioning.

There are also small docks in each resort along the coast. A small and pitoresque dock also exists in Platamonas. There are usually fishing boats that dock here. These boats supply the taverns and the restaurants with fresh fish. Yaghts are also arriving here during spring or summer.
